Description

In Hintta school we have about 400 pupils. They are 7-12 years old. I have 4th class, pupils are 10 years old

Goals

Goals: Learn different subjects by using ICT  skills.

Methods

Methods: First, of course, we learned how to use OneNote Classroom. Previous years we have been using other Office365 programs, so it helped a lot. The pupils knew how to use Word and PowerPoint, so OneNote Classroom was not so hard. The best way to learn something new, is to do it again and again. We have been using OneNote Classroom mainly in Finnish language and literature; writing stories. We also made presentations in Biology. Instructions were given how to add pictures and references; pupils also wrote instructional summaries of different sports activities.

Materials

Materials: In this year I have been using OneNote Classroom program with my students. I like it, because it`s so diverse learning environment. You can make your own environments to all subjects.

Assessment

Assessment:  Teacher assessment.  It is easy for the teacher to know what the students have been doing, because in OneNote Classroom you can see everything on students’ pages and outputs. Students made a presentation and it was evaluated by peers. The main focus was on content and how the presentation was planned. Students didn’t give written feedback and all evaluation was done orally. In OneNote Classroom pupils can`t see each others work.

ICT

We should be learning different subjects by using ICT. It should become a natural part of school subjects and projects. Project provided opportunities for co-operation and possibility to use individual strengths and abilities that otherwise had not been evident. This project also promoted autonomous learning, self-directed learning and peer-assessment skills.

eTwinning

Mobility

Students really like to use OneNote Classroom and say it`s easy to use. Students commented on final presentation and not during the process due limitations that Onenote Classroom has.

Stakeholders

When we started to use Classroom, students had to show parents their homework.

Success

OneNote Classroom is easy to use. Every subject and project can be found in the same place. Using technology was something that motivated especially boys for writing text that has been more thoroughly forethought.
